PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday issued notices to the federal and provincial governments along with other relevant parties, seeking responses in a writ petition challenging the nomination of an allegedly unrelated persons for a civil award in the field of journalism.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Naeem Anwar and Justice Muhammad Ijaz Khan Sabi heard the petition. Advocate Zia Khan represented the petitioner, senior journalist Shamim Shahid, while the deputy attorney general and the additional advocate general represented the federation and the provincial government, respectively.
