CDA chairman briefed on Organic Community Market

Islamabad : Ex-chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Kamran Lashari who turned around Islamabad as lively city coupled with huge development during his five-year eventful tenure, visited Islamabad on Saturday.

Accompanied by the incumbent Muhammad Ali Randhawa, he visited a couple of projects being undertaken by civic body.

Both visited Islamabad’s first Organic Community Market managed by MCI at F-7/3 Park and inspected the various stalls set up in the market.

Relevant officers briefed them about the Organic Community Market, apprising him that stalls offering various items have been set up in the community market and stalls featuring natural, chemical-free, fresh and healthy food items and products are a focal point for citizens.

During the briefing, CDA chairman was briefed that special activities for children and families have also been arranged at the organic community market, making it a beautiful blend of recreation and health.

It was informed the various stalls include fresh fruits and vegetables, homemade bakery items, delicacies prepared by artisans, and high-quality cheese, among other natural goods and these natural products are receiving an enthusiastic response from citizens.

During the briefing, it was informed that free entry for families has also been provided at the market. Similarly, under the management of MCI this organic community market is organised for citizens every weekend. The briefing further said that the Organic Community Market remains open for families every weekend from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Randhawa, appreciated the excellent management of the market and the overwhelming participation of citizens, said that this market is not only a shopping center but is also proving to be an excellent platform for community bonding.

Chairman CDA said that this market is also a means of providing our citizens access to healthy products in their nearest park.

Former chairman CDA Kamran Lashari said on the occasion that the Organic Community Market is an excellent initiative for the provision of healthy and quality products.

Randhwa directed to ensure strict implementation of the market's better organization, the park's healthy environment, well planned layout, and the 'Zero Littering Policy.'
