CHAKDARA: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) former chief Sirajul Haq on Sunday assailed US President Donald Trump for violating the international laws and principles by launching an attack on the sovereign and oil-rich country of Venezuela and kidnapping its president along with his wife from their palace.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of JI’s public welfare office in Katyari here, the US had no regard for international laws, the sovereignty of nations, or fundamental moral values. He said the US had always acted above international law across the world and openly supports what he called the oppressive state of Israel.
He added that leaders, who had been busy flattering Donald Trump and even nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize, must now seriously review their foreign policy and political conduct.Sirajul Haq said that the holy Quran was the true charter of life and that the politics, economy, social system and governance of Muslims must all be guided by it. He said that although many political parties existed in the country and all talked about reforms, their manifestos were not based on the teachings of holy Quran.
He added that the party’s objective was not merely to gain power but to establish the system of Islam, which was founded on justice, trust and fairness. Addressing the people, he said, “Wake up, this is your time. The era of silence is over. If the nation still fails to take a decision, future generations will never forgive us.” Declaring 2026 a decisive year, he said it would determine the future direction of the nation.
