LAHORE: Punjab Sports Department achieved sufficient success in various sports events during the past 12 months’ period. Literally, the calendar year 2025 has turned out to be very productive for Punjab Sports Department in many ways and brought ample accomplishment on multiple fronts.
During this period, Punjab Sports Department took exceptional measures for the promotion of sports and spreading network of modern sports facilities including sports complexes, stadiums and grounds etc across the province.
DG Sports Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry said Sports Endowment Fund has great significance in the mission of producing international standard sports stars and in a bid to encourage the top performers in the recently concluded 35th National Games, Punjab Sports Department has decided to enroll them in the Punjab Sports Endowment Fund for monthly scholarships.
It is pertinent to mention here that the number of athletes, who are receiving monthly scholarships under Sports Endowment Fund, has exceeded 100 at the end of calendar year 2025.
“Sports endowment fund offers long-term financial and professional support that can significantly benefit an athlete throughout and beyond their competitive career. One major advantage is financial stability. Endowment funds provide scholarships, stipends, or grants that help cover training costs, equipment, travel, nutrition, and education, reducing the financial pressure that often distracts athletes from performance”.
