LAHORE : The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has released the annual performance report of its Immigration Wing at Lahore Airport for the year 2025.

According to the report, FIA Immigration successfully processed the immigration of 5.1 million passengers on international arrivals and departures at Lahore Airport during 2025. The report stated that 2.6 million passengers departed from Lahore Airport through 12,357 international flights during the year, while 2.5 million passengers arrived from different countries on 12,338 flights. During 2025, FIA Immigration Lahore arrested 242 suspects wanted in serious criminal cases. Of these, 73 suspects were arrested while attempting to flee abroad, while 169 were arrested upon arrival in Pakistan. The names of all arrested suspects were included on the stop list. Among the arrested individuals, 130 were wanted by Punjab Police, 105 by Anti-Human Trafficking Circles, six by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, and one by Islamabad Police. The report further said that 121 passengers were prevented from travelling abroad during 2025 for attempting to use fake documents.

It added that special measures were taken to curb the crime of human smuggling. With the support of international organisations, 28 training sessions were organised for immigration staff deployed at Lahore Airport. More than 200 immigration officers received specialised training during 2025 focused on preventing human smuggling. —Sher Ali Khalti
