LAHORE : Punjab Minister for Information and Culture AzmaBokhari, responding to a recent statement by Shafi Jan, said the use of abusive and inappropriate language was regrettable and reflected poorly on social discourse.

She stated that such remarks neither represent social values nor uphold standards of decency and civility, adding that offensive language undermines constructive debate and mutual respect. She said public figures should demonstrate responsibility and restraint in their conduct, noting that harsh words and personal attacks do not contribute to meaningful discussion. She further expressed regret over the tone of the remarks and emphasised the need for respectful communication, particularly in public forums, to maintain social harmony and dignity.
