Sindh police chief Ghulam Nabi Memon on Monday inaugurated a modern digital library at the Central Police Office Karachi.

Officials said that the library would provide laws, police rules, court decisions and other information digitally. The digital library https://www.sindhpolice.gov.pk/digital-library will also be available to the general public including police employees. It is integrated with various government and non-government legal institutions and research firms.

Additional IGs Operations, Training, DIGs of Headquarters, Training, IT, T&T, Crime and Investigation, AIGs, PDIT and other officers were present on the occasion of the inauguration. The DIG Headquarters decorated the library while the DIG IT and PDIT informed the officers about the facilities of the digital library. The digital library will prove to be an important milestone in the availability of historical and research materials of the Sindh police, IGP Memon said and added that this library will play the role of an information center for police officers and researchers.

He added that all officers and employees should benefit from the digital library. The digital library should be linked with the libraries of all police training centers. The legal and research materials available in the library will be available in the Sindh police digital library with one click.

Earlier, IGP Memon inaugurated the Traffic Helpline 1915 and SSP Traffic South Complex. The Traffic Helpline 1915 has been established at the Central Police Office Karachi, while the SSP Traffic Office has been established at the South Artillery Maidan.

The Additional IG Karachi, DIGs of Traffic, Training, SSPs Traffic South, AVLC, PDIT and other senior officers were also present at the inauguration ceremony. A briefing was given about the Traffic Helpline and the office of SSP Traffic South. The Traffic 1915 has been digitalized. Now citizens can easily get information about their e-challans from home through 1915.

IGP Memon said the offices equipped with modern facilities play an effective role in the performance of the traffic police. After the launch of e-challan, the facility centers are working effectively. The Traffic Helpline 1915 is currently a modern facility for immediate guidance to citizens and redressal of complaints. He added that the Traffic Helpline 1915 will make communication between citizens and traffic police more effective. Moreover, the Traffic helpline should be kept active 24 hours. Helplines equipped with modern lines strengthen the public service system. The Traffic discipline, guidance and citizen convenience are among the top priorities of the Sindh police.
