Travelogue on journey to Umrah launched

PESHAWAR: “Those Twenty-One Golden Days of Life,” a travelogue of the journey from Pakistan to the Haramain Al-Sharifain (the two holy places) authored by known artiste Aman was launched at a simple ceremony here on Sunday.

The book-launching ceremony was held at China Window, a Chinese cultural centre here. Secretary Information Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr Bakhtiar Khan was the chief guest.

Prominent artistes, poets, writers and researchers, including Jamil Babar, Bushra Farrukh, Kulsoom Zaib, Shazma Haleem, Aslam Khan, Abaseen Yousafzai, Zulfiqar Qureshi and others were present.

Bakhtiar Khan said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa produced great actors who brought glory to the country at home and abroad. He said that after rendering outstanding services in the field of acting, writing books on their memories and various subjects was commendable.

He said that actor Aman not only impressed film audiences with his talent but also included the rituals of Umrah in his book. He added that Aman also provided details of the sacred sites he visited in Makkah and Madinah, which made the book interesting for readers. He congratulated Aman for beautifully documenting his journey and expressed confidence that the book would also hold literary significance.

Film actor Jamil Babar said that Aman has presented his journey to the Haramain Sharifain as a spiritual voyage, and the book reflected his spiritual insight. He said that mdocumenting one’s experiences after performing Umrah was indeed a commendable step.

Abaseen Yousafzai paid tribute to the author for his new publication. He said that Aman was a proud actor of the past, and after acting, he has authored his second book, which was an achievement in literature.

Bushra Farrukh, said in every person’s life there came a special moment when the road of life took a new turn and led to a path from which there was no return, and it was this very moment that compelled actor Aman to write his travelogue.

Aslam Khan expressed confidence that readers would benefit from it in gaining awareness about the rituals of Umrah.

Author Aman said that performing Umrah was a spiritual test for him, and after going through it, he shaped his journey into a book so that readers could gain awareness not only about Umrah but also about the sacred places.

He said that in Pakistan, negative perceptions were often associated with actors, but they were human beings with compassionate hearts who worshipped Allah Almighty and served His creatures. He added that for those who were blessed with performing Hajj and Umrah, the journey to the Haramain Sharifain became an unforgettable experience.

Aman said he included his memories in the book so that readers could learn about the rituals of Umrah and gain knowledge about the sacred sites. He also highlighted the issues faced by actors and demanded that facilities be provided to artistes so that their lives can be made easier in the present era of digital and social media.
