PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department has intensified its ongoing measures for the collection of property tax, with decisive action being taken against persistent defaulters.

Under the supervision of Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO-VI) Peshawar, Ejaz Khan, a vigorous operation was carried out against property tax defaulters during which multiple residential and commercial units across various areas of Peshawar city were sealed for non-payment of dues pending over a long period.

According to the Excise and Taxation Department, indiscriminate action against tax defaulters would continue and no one would be spared. The initiative was aimed at ensuring timely recovery of government revenues and to make the tax system more transparent. The department urged citizens to deposit their outstanding dues to avoid additional penalties, legal action or sealing of their premises.

Director Excise and Taxation Peshawar Region Syed ul-Amin visited Property Tax Offices Peshawar-II and Peshawar-VI and presided over a meeting.

The meeting reviewed the pace of property tax recovery and directed officials concerned to expedite the process.

Relevant officers, Tauseef Khan and Ejaz Khan, were instructed to formulate a comprehensive strategy to improve staff performance. Emphasis was laid on courteous conduct and guidance-oriented facilitation for taxpayers.
