Peshawar win SOS Village Football event

ISLAMABAD: Player of the Tournament Zeeshan scored the lone goal as Peshawar edged out Sargodha by a solitary goal to win the All Pakistan SOS Inter-Village Football Tournament, concluded at the Zamzama United Club Ground.

Following close exchanges, Zeeshan found himself in the right place to score the winner and to ensure the title for Peshawar. Despite all-out efforts, Sargodha could not manage the equalizer.Earlier, in the semi-finals Sargodha defeated host team Rawalpindi 2-0 while Peshawar also managed 2-0 victory over Faisalabad.

The final was graced by Anwarullah Sheikh, Chairman SOS Youth Home Rawalpindi. All the members of the SOS Village Committee were present on the occasion.The chairman appreciated team members emerging from all over the country for showing keen interest in the All Pakistan SOS Village Football. “The interest and element of competition the youth has shown in the Championship would go a long way in making them an important component of society. These youngsters have shown that they possess immense talent for the game.”
