Zindagi JS Bank to extend digital banking to small traders

ISLAMABAD: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industries (ICSTSI) and Zindagi JS Bank to provide modern banking facilities, financial assistance and business development opportunities to small traders and industrialists.

The agreement aims to promote financial inclusion and digitalization among small businesses, particularly in the retail and food sectors. Under the MoU, QR codes will be installed directly at millions of meat, milk and bread shops to facilitate digital payments and modernise business transactions. The MoU was signed on behalf of the Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industries by acting Secretary General Bushra Khan, Jamiat-e-Quresh President Khursheed Ahmed Qureshi, Fresh Milk President Maz Hashmi, Capital Nanbai President Sajjad Abbasi, and Retailer Poultry Association President Islam Mahmood Hussain Shah. The agreement was signed on behalf of Zindagi JS Bank by its representative, Madam Anam Khalid.

As part of the initiative, the JS Bank team will install QR codes directly at 150,000 meat shops across Pakistan. In addition, more than 30,000 QR codes will be installed at milk shops, non-food outlets and poultry shops in Islamabad, with the objective of making business transactions digital, efficient and convenient. The signing ceremony was attended by ICSTSI President Muhammad Owais Satti, Senior Vice President Sheikh Tayyab Saeed, Vice President Sardar Zaheer Ahmed, Founder Group Chairman Saqib Taj Abbasi, former Founder Group Chairman Qazi Ilyas, and Executive Members Waseem-ul-Haq, Taimur Abbasi and Raheel Ahmed.

Speaking on the occasion, ICSTSI President Muhammad Owais Satti said the agreement would facilitate access to financial services for traders and industrialists in Islamabad and would play an important role in promoting business activity. He added that the partnership with Zindagi JS Bank would prove beneficial for the growth and development of small and medium enterprises (SME) sector.

Senior Vice President Sheikh Tayyab Saeed and Vice President Sardar Zaheer Ahmed also welcomed the agreement, stating that it would provide chamber members with modern digital banking solutions, concessional financing and other value-added facilities, thereby helping traders adapt to a rapidly evolving business environment and strengthen their economic sustainability.
