JHANG: Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUIF) Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Friday said there was no objection to creation of new provinces on administrative basis, but stressed that people of the areas concerned must be taken into confidence before any such step is taken.
Talking to the media, he said the formation of new provinces should not lead to fresh problems and cautioned that the process required careful planning and foresight. He stressed that broad-based consultation with stakeholders was essential to ensure stability and public acceptance.
Earlier, Maulana Fazl visited the residence of the late Pir Zulfiqar Ahmad Naqshbandi Mujaddidi on Toba Road in Jhang to offer condolences to the bereaved family. He expressed heartfelt sympathies to the deceased’s sons, Habibullah Ahmad Naqshbandi and Saifullah Ahmad Naqshbandi, and prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul as well as patience and strength for the family.
Paying tribute to the late Pir, the JUIF chief lauded his services in the religious field and his role in spiritual guidance, saying his contributions to Islamic teachings and moral reform would be long remembered. The condolence visit was attended by a large number of religious scholars, disciples and followers, who also offered special prayers for the departed soul.
