LAHORE:The Department of Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education has received lists for the appointment of 2,000 additional nurses, recruited through the Punjab Public Service Commission. All appointments will be made on 100 percent merit across various teaching hospitals in Punjab.

Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said the Punjab government is prioritising efforts to address the shortage of doctors and nurses in hospitals. He added that these new appointments are part of a broader strategy to strengthen healthcare services in the province. Secretary Health Punjab Azmat Mahmood Khan stated that the newly recruited nurses would be appointed soon, reflecting the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to take historic steps for the improvement of the health sector.
