NOWSHERA/CHARSADDA: The annual elections of the Nowshera Press Club for the year 2026 completed on Monday with Hafiz Tafheemur Rehman and Shehnshah elected as president and general secretary, respectively.
The elections were held under the supervision of the election committee chairman president of the District Bar Association Nowshera, Mian Arshad Jan advocate, and its members Ehtisham Khan Wajid advocate, Muhammad Ijaz Salar advocate and Asif Kareem Orakzai advocate
All the cabinet members, including Hafiz Tafheemur Rehman president, Shehnshah general secretary, Syed Waliullah Shah vice president, Muhammad Shahid joint secretary and Khalid Nazir finance secretary were elected unopposed.
Similarly, Noor Khaliq Khattak, Zahoor Ahmad and Bakht Baisar were also elected unopposed as members of the governing body.Meanwhile, the Charsadda Press Club asked members that the intending candidates should submit nomination papers by December 24 for the elections of the club slated for December 31.
A meeting of the election committee formed during the general body meeting of the Charsadda Press Club was held under the chairmanship of election committee chairman Syed Ali Shah.
The meeting reviewed preparations for the elections scheduled for December 31 in accordance with the press club’s constitution.It was informed that nominations will be accepted for six posts, president, vice president, general secretary, joint secretary, finance secretary and office secretary, and five governing body members.
Members may submit their nomination papers to the election committee chairman or the office secretary by December 24.Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on December 25 and a preliminary list of candidates will be issued the same day.
Objections may be submitted until December 26, on which the election committee will decide the objections.Candidates may withdraw their nomination papers by December 27. After that, the election committee will announce the names of office-bearers and governing body members elected unopposed, if applicable.
Otherwise, the final list of candidates will be displayed on the press club notice board on December 27 and press club members will elect representatives through secret ballot on December 31.
