JAMRUD: The seven-day anti-polio campaign in Khyber district is successfully underway under strict security arrangements.Polio vaccination teams are going door to door to administer polio drops to children under the age of five.
On the instructions of Khyber District Police Officer (DPO) Waqar Ahmad, hundreds of police personnel have been deployed to provide security to the polio teams to ensure that the campaign remains safe, peaceful, and effective.
In this regard, additional checkpoints have been established at all entry and exit points of the district, where the checking system has been further strengthened.The DPO has instructed officials to ensure the use of bulletproof jackets and helmets during duty, keep a close watch on suspicious persons, vehicles, and motorcycles, and remove illegal or suspicious stickers during checking. Warnings were also issued to several individuals for violations.
Waqar Ahmad stated that during the anti-polio campaign, the police’s top priority is the security of the officials engaged in the drive.He directed all officers and personnel to remain on high alert and ensure strict implementation of the prescribed standard operating procedures.
