Islamabad: A retirement reference and farewell ceremony in honour of senior academic and renowned historian Professor Aftab Hayat was held at Islamabad Model College for Boys F-10/4.
Prof Hayat has retired after more than 35 years of dedicated service as he became part of the federal education system as a lecturer on November 20, 1990, and served at Islamabad Model Postgraduate College H-8, IMCB Nilore, IMCB H-9 and lastly, IMCB F-10/4, from where he retired after completing over three and a half decades of service.
The event was attended by faculty members from FG colleges, who highlighted Prof Hayat's scholarly work, professional integrity and role in shaping the academic and moral development of students.
IMCB F-10/4 principal Prof Rashid Saleem praised Prof Hayat’s unwavering dedication, humility and lifelong commitment to education, saying his retirement marks the end of an era for the institution.
Prof Hayat thanked colleagues for their support and cooperation throughout his career. He described teaching as an honorable profession and expressed satisfaction at having served the nation by educating youth.
