Islamabad:Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Irfan Neziroglu on Wednesday described Pakistan-Turkiye relations as a strong brotherly bond founded on shared history, culture, religious harmony and mutual trust, saying the two countries continue to deepen cooperation in education, culture and people-to-people exchanges, says a press release.

The ambassador was addressing the closing ceremony and certificate distribution of a two-week ‘Turkish Summer Camp’ jointly organized by the Department of International Collaboration and Exchange at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) and the Yunus Emre Institute Pakistan.

Dr. Neziroglu said Pakistani students have access to numerous higher education opportunities and scholarship programmes in Turkiye. He emphasized that learning the Turkish language and gaining a deeper understanding of Turkiye’s literature, culture and society are essential for students wishing to benefit fully from these educational opportunities.

He said the Yunus Emre Institute at AIOU regularly organizes Turkish language courses, academic programmes and cultural activities to familiarize Pakistani students with Turkiye’s language, traditions and cultural heritage.

The ambassador announced that the Turkish Summer Camp and other educational and cultural programmes would be expanded to AIOU’s regional campuses across Pakistan, enabling students from all four provinces to participate and benefit from these initiatives.

Commending the university’s efforts, Dr. Neziroglu thanked AIOU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood for promoting educational and cultural cooperation between Pakistan and Turkiye and creating new avenues for collaboration between the two countries.
