LAHORE:A fire broke out in a basement of a commercial plaza housing a warehouse of disposable material near Urdu Bazaar on Akbari Road.
According to Rescue 1122 officials, the fire was reported at around 5:48pm, after which multiple fire and emergency vehicles were dispatched to the site.Firefighters launched an operation to contain the blaze.Rescue sources said the fire erupted in a warehouse located in the basement of the plaza, where a large quantity of disposable material was stored. The nature of the material contributed to the rapid spread of flames and thick smoke, which engulfed the lower portion of the building and created visibility challenges for rescue personnel. Firefighters remained engaged in extinguishing the fire for an extended period. No casualties were reported until filing of this report.
