Young people born after the year 2000 are a miracle generation. They are better than millennials and their predecessors in so many ways. It is a privilege to observe them think, act and interact since they have been global citizens right from their childhoods. This generation is more solemn in its objectives and think of challenges faced by the globe and its inhabitants passionately. However, one thing holding them back is our dysfunctional education system. We have developed a marathon session of studies stretched over sixteen to twenty years of formal education but the new generation neither has the time nor the need to stick to colleges and universities for so long. This is outright boring and self-defeating.

In order to attract and benefit youth through formal education going forward, the following steps are suggested: All professional studies e.g. medical, engineering, law, accounting etc, should be curtailed to 3 or 4 years courses, professional studies should start after matriculation, the last year of professional studies should require internships or on-job training and those students who fall short in professional studies or opt out of four-year programmes after matriculation, should be enrolled in technical and vocational training courses spanning a maximum of one to two years.
