The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) on Tuesday arrested three members of a gang allegedly involved in looting citizens at gunpoint across the city.

According to SIU officials, the arrested suspects were found in possession of three pistols and several snatched mobile phones. Initial investigations revealed that the group was involved in multiple incidents of street crime and armed robberies in various parts of Karachi.

A spokesperson said the suspects primarily targeted pedestrians, families, factory workers, and office-goers, considering them easy victims. The gang had reportedly been operating in districts East and West, as well as in several industrial zones.

The arrested suspects were identified as Waqas, Farooq, and Sher Alam. The police were collecting details of their past criminal activities. A case has been registered at the SIU police station.
