CM orders intensifying action against dacoits in Shikarpur

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday paid tribute to the bravery of police officers and personnel injured during the operation against criminal gangs of dacoits in Shikarpur.

He directed the police to further intensify operations against the dacoit gangs and ensure complete restoration of law and order in the district. In a statement issued from the Chief Minister’s House, Shah expressed solidarity with DSP City Shikarpur Paras Bakhrani, DSP Garhi Yasin Zahoor Soomro and the four injured personnel and prayed for their speedy recovery.

He directed Chairman District Council Sukkur Syed Kamal Shah to arrange an air ambulance for the injured officers if necessary so that they can be provided with the best medical facilities. The CM warned that strict action will be taken against dacoits who do not surrender.

He stressed that the police have been given clear instructions to establish the state writ in Shikarpur. He said no leniency will be tolerated, and it is necessary to eliminate criminal elements and restore peace in Shikarpur.

Sindh Inspector General of Police Ghulam Nabi Memon briefed the CM about the latest operation in Manchar Shah, Shikarpur. He said DSP Paras Bakhrani, DSP Zahoor Soomro and two officials were injured in an armed attack, and they were immediately shifted to hospital.

He further said that nine dacoits, including the ringleader of the gang, were killed in the encounter. These dacoits were involved in kidnapping for ransom and other serious crimes. The police used armoured vehicles and drone technology during the operation, which increased the safety and accuracy of the operation.

The CM directed the police to expand operations in Shikarpur and surrounding areas to eliminate the remaining criminal networks. He said the operation should continue with full force. Whoever tries to disturb the peace will be dealt with sternly. He reiterated the government’s commitment to restore lasting peace in Shikarpur and assured full cooperation for police operations in the district.

Meanwhile, IGP Ghulam Nabi Memon congratulated the DIG Larkana, SSP Shikarpur and their team for their brilliant action against notorious dacoits in the Kutcha area of Shikarpur. Shikarpur police have achieved great success against criminal elements. The credit for this success is the result of the bravery and tireless work of the officers and men. The IGP said the injured DSPs and men are being provided with the best medical facilities.
