• Women were only 13% of news subjects, down from 18% in 2020.

• Women reporters dropped to 4%, from 16% in 2020. No women reporters were recorded in TV, radio, or internet news; only two print stories were reported by women.

• The only area showing an increase was Social and Legal news, where women’s presence rose to 20% (from 14% in 2020).

• Across all monitored media on the monitoring day, only one story on gender-based violence (GBV) appeared.

• All stories that included women as subjects were reported by men.

• The sole GBV story focused on intimate partner violence, portraying the woman strictly as a victim. No human rights lens or legal framework was applied.

These numbers show a clear reversal of progress made over previous cycles and highlight how deeply women’s representation is tied to editorial priorities and news routines.
