Two suspects in custody killed by accomplices’ firing in CCD encounter

LAHORE:Two under-custody suspects were killed in separate alleged police encounters in Iqbal Town and Chuhng on Friday.

The suspects, identified as Mubashir and Adnan, were being taken by the Crime Control Department (CCD) for recovery when unidentified attackers allegedly

opened fire on the police party in an attempt to free them. Police officials said both suspects were fatally hit by bullets fired by their own accomplices during the exchange of fire. Bodies were shifted to the morgue.

Two die in road accidents

Two people died in separate road accidents in Chuhng and Kahna on Friday. According to an Edhi Foundation spokesperson, a man identified as Hameed Masih died after being hit by a speeding vehicle while crossing the road in Chuhng.

In another incident in Kahna, a 23-year old motorcyclist Shehzad was struck by a fast-moving car and died on the spot. Police shifted both bodies to the morgue.

Imposter arrested

Kot Lakhpat police arrested a woman posing as a doctor in the LGH. According to police, the suspect, identified as Sonia Bibi of Chak Mangla, Mirpur Khas, was impersonating a doctor and taking bribes from the public.

During record verification, it was found that she had no medical qualifications. Police said she had also been introducing herself as a doctor in her hometown. A case was registered against her.

Woman found dead

A 48-year old woman was found dead in her Defence B house on Friday. Police said the victim, identified as 'Z', was found dead under mysterious circumstances with clear signs of torture on her body.

According to officials, victim's brother visited her house after failing to contact her by phone. Upon entering, he discovered her lying dead and immediately informed the police. He later shifted the body to a hospital with the help of neighbours. Police reached the scene, collected forensic evidence, and moved the body to the morgue.
