LAHORE:Kahna Police arrested an injured suspect, wanted in more than 50 cases, during an ‘encounter’ near Gajjumata Sue Asal.
Police said three suspicious motorcyclists were signaled to stop at a checkpoint, but they opened indiscriminate fire instead. Police retaliated in self-defence, and during the exchange, one suspect was injured by firing from his own accomplices and fell, after which he was arrested along with a weapon. The suspect was identified as Allah Wasaya, son of Faqir Muhammad, a resident of Halloki, and was shifted to General Hospital for treatment. Police also seized the motorcycle used by the suspects.
Rickshaw driver held in assault case
Shafiqabad Police have arrested a rickshaw driver for allegedly sexually assaulting a 12-yearold schoolboy. The accused, identified as Zafar, lured two young school friends into his rickshaw, took them to his house, and sexually assaulted one of the boys. He then allegedly threatened both children and forced them to flee before escaping himself.
Meanwhile, police arrested a local resident for the alleged sexual assault of a seven-yearold boy. The victim was returning home from his academy when the accused, Fawad, allegedly lured the child to the rooftop of the house and attempted to sexually assault him.
Abducted girl found, suspects arrested
Lorry Ada Police recovered a girl allegedly kidnapped from Sheikhupura and arrested the suspected kidnappers during a checking operation at the bus terminal. A kidnapping case was registered a day earlier in Sheikhupura.
