LAHORE:A case has been registered against a police constable over alleged controversial social media activity targeting the Punjab government, the Pakistan Army, and supporting a banned outfit, sources here said on Thursday.
Constable M Aqeel Noor, serving as a computer operator at the SDPO Muslim Town Circle office, was booked after technical analysis confirmed that the disputed posts were made from his personal account, the FIR states.
Police spokesperson said the case has been lodged at Gulshan-e-Iqbal Police Station under Section 155-C, and further investigation is underway. Officials added that no anti-state activity by any police personnel will be tolerated and action will be taken as per law.
