Wheelchairs given to children, ghazi officials

LAHORE: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Punjab, Dr Usman Anwar Tuesday distributed specially designed wheelchairs among seven children of police employees and three Ghazi officials at a ceremony at the Central Police Office in collaboration with local welfare group Milestone and a Japanese welfare organisation.

Japanese representatives also attended the event. The IGP appreciated their support, noting that the wheelchairs were crafted for children affected by polio, paralysis and other disabilities. He said arrangements were also being made for lift vans to facilitate long-distance travel for children with cerebral palsy and disabled Ghazis.

Children from PHP, Lahore and Sahiwal, along with Ghazi officials Muhammad Hashim, Aurangzaib and Shahid Ali, received wheelchairs.Milestone CEO Shafiq-ur-Rehman said more wheelchairs would be provided in collaboration with the police. Senior police officers also attended the ceremony.
