According to some reports, the Sindh government has directed all private schools to allow students to wear any warm clothes of their choice during winter, without any restrictions on colour, design etc. This is a much-needed and timely relief. For years, many children have endured the cold simply because they could not afford school-approved sweaters or jackets. This new policy truly reflects concern for students’ health and comfort instead of rigid dress codes. It is important that schools follow this directive and do not pressurise students over uniform colours during the cold season. Parents should also take advantage of this facility by ensuring their children are properly dressed and protected. This decision sets a positive example of student-friendly governance and I hope such practical steps continue in the future.
