PARACHINAR/KOHAT: Two cops embraced martyrdom and four terrorists were killed in a clash in Chinarak area in central part of Kurram district, officials said on Sunday.
Officials said that clash occurred after the terrorists attacked the police post in Chinarak.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Kohat, Abbas Majeed Marwat, told the media that the militants’ attack on the Chinarak police post was foiled. In the police counter-operation, he said, four terrorists were killed and six others injured.
Tragically, he said, two police personnel, Fazal Rehman and Waheed, lost their lives during the attack. Their funeral prayers were held at the Kurram Police Headquarters with full official honors, the RPO added.
A large contingent of police and security forces has been deployed to the area to apprehend the injured militants, who reportedly entered from mountainous routes in Afghanistan.
RPO Abbas Majeed Marwat said no sacrifice would be spared in maintaining law and order in the Kohat region. He also appealed to the public to support police and security forces against terrorists.
