The democratic element appears to have been eliminated from the Board of Governors (BoG) of all educational boards of the province, including the Matric Board Karachi, and a nomination system has been established and new members have also been appointed by the controlling authority.

Earlier, an election was held for a seat on the BoG among the principals of the affiliated schools in the education boards and the affiliated schools used to choose a representative of their choice, while one member was also elected from the Academic Council of the government university in the area on the basis of elections and the chairmen of all the other education boards were members of the BOG. However, the controlling authority of the education boards of the province has started changing the Board of Governors (BoG) established since the era of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. In the first phase, the Board of Governors of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi has been changed, a formal notification of which has also been issued.

According to a notification issued by Muhammad Daud Shah, Section Officer of the Universities and Boards Department, all the education board chairmen except one have been removed from the BoG of the Matric Board Karachi. Musharraf Ali Rajput, Chairman Technical Board, will be a member of the BoG of the Matric Board for the next 2 years only.

Other nominations have also been made in the Matric Board for two years and Masoodul Hassan, Headmaster of Government Boy School Orangi Town No 9, will be a member on the seat of Principal or Head of School. Abdul Sami Bhutto, Principal of the Swedish Institute, has been nominated as a technical expert, Ahmar Enterprise CEO Ahmar Mushahid Siddiqui, as a representative of the civil society, and Ghazala Nizami, Principal of Happy Home School, and former bureaucrat Matant Ali Khan have been appointed by the controlling authority as its two nominations.
