ISLAMABAD: Electricity consumers are likely to see a modest relief of Rs0.368 per unit in their November bills, as the Central Power Purchasing Agency-Guarantee (CPPA-G) has petitioned the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) for a fuel cost adjustment (FCA) refund for September 2025.
The regulator has scheduled a public hearing for October 29 to decide the matter. The proposed cut, if approved, will apply to all power distribution companies, including K-Electric, under federal policy guidelines ensuring uniform adjustment across the country.
According to CPPA-G’s petition, the reference fuel cost for September was set at Rs7.6554 per unit, while the actual generation cost averaged Rs7.2873 per unit—creating a difference that must be refunded to consumers through the FCA mechanism.
