‘PM’s grievance wing resolved 92pc of public complaints’

ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs was informed Prime Minister’s Public Affairs and Grievance Wing (PM’s PA&GW) received 18,590 public complaints between July 1, 2025, and June 24, 2026.

Of these, 17,104 complaints were resolved, achieving an overall disposal rate of 92 percent.

The committee met at Parliament House on Tuesday under chairmanship of Rana Iradat Sharif Khan.

During the meeting, Secretary for Parliamentary Affairs briefed the committee on performance of PM’s Public Affairs and Grievance Wing. He highlighted achievements, recent initiatives, and future plans aimed at strengthening citizen engagement and improving the public grievance redressal system.

The committee was informed the Wing recorded an increase in complaints from 17,975 during 2024-25 to 18,590 in 2025-26, reflecting growing public confidence in Pakistan Citizens’ Portal and increased awareness of government’s grievance redressal mechanism.

The Secretary informed the committee the Wing had launched several initiatives to enhance public service delivery by improving accessibility, visibility, and citizen outreach. These initiatives included nationwide awareness campaigns and introduction of dedicated short code 1733 for complaint registration.

The committee was also informed dedicated Flood Relief Desks were established in flood-affected districts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during 2025 floods. These desks registered and actively pursued complaints related to compensation, rehabilitation, and livelihood restoration with the relevant authorities.

Community focal persons were engaged, and special facilitation was provided to vulnerable citizens to ensure timely and effective relief.

Chairman Rana Iradat Sharif Khan appreciated efforts of Prime Minister’s Public Affairs and Grievance Wing in strengthening public grievance redressal mechanism and acknowledged its progress in expanding citizen outreach. However, he emphasised the true measure of success lies in timely and effective resolution of public grievances. He stressed PM’s Public Affairs and Grievance Wing must continue to prioritise public welfare by ensuring grievance redressal system remains responsive, efficient, and citizen-centric.
