Neighbours’ minor dispute leaves one dead

LAHORE : A minor dispute between neighbours turned deadly in Samanabad area leaving one man dead and another injured after armed suspects allegedly opened fire.

According to SP Iqbal Town, the incident occurred after a quarrel between neighbouring families escalated into a violent confrontation. Initial investigations suggest that the firing was carried out by a suspect identified as Shoaib and his accomplices.

Police said Zahid was killed on the spot after being hit by the gunfire, while Hussain sustained injuries and was shifted to hospital.

Responding to the incident, Samanabad police reached the scene and arrested three suspects identified as Shoaib, Daniyal and Farjad.

The body of the deceased was shifted to a morgue for a post-mortem examination, while the arrested suspects were handed over to the investigation wing for further legal proceedings.

Police said the motive behind the shooting was being investigated from different angles and further action would be taken in accordance with the law.

Man kills elder brother over domestic dispute

A 45-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by his younger brother following a domestic dispute in Shalamar area.

According to police, the suspect, identified as Chand, allegedly opened fire on his elder brother, Shahid, after an argument at their residence before fleeing the scene.

The victim sustained critical injuries and was rushed to hospital by family members, where he succumbed to his wounds during treatment.

Police shifted the body to the morgue for a post-mortem examination and launched a search operation to arrest the fleeing suspect.

Investigators said the incident appeared to have stemmed from a domestic dispute. Further investigation is underway.

Abducted man rescued

Police rescued a man allegedly abducted from Shehar Sultan during a raid in the Awan Town area and arrested two suspects.

According to DIG Operations Lahore spokesperson, Sabzazar police acted after receiving information from the complainant and conducted a raid in Awan Town, where they safely recovered the victim, identified as Taha.

The two suspects, identified as Hafeef, son of Waseem, and Zeeshan, son of Ashraf, who had been nominated in the kidnapping case, were arrested during the operation.

Police also recovered Rs3.634 million from the suspects, allegedly part of the cash taken from the victim at the time of the kidnapping, along with an iPhone worth approximately Rs400,000.

The rescued victim, the arrested suspects and the recovered cash and mobile phone were shifted to Sabzazar police station for legal formalities.

Police said the kidnapping case had already been registered at Shehar Sultan Police Station in Muzaffargarh district.

The local police were informed of the development and a team from Muzaffargarh left for Lahore to take over further legal proceedings.
