CHAGAI: A Turkish national who was abducted following a deadly attack on a mining site in Chagai district earlier this year has been recovered, according to multiple government and company sources.

Sources within the government and National Resources Limited (NRL) confirmed that Salih Gülcemal, a driller employed by Bore and Bore Company at the Darigwan mining site operated by NRL, is now in the custody of provincial authorities in Balochistan and is in good health.

According to sources privy to the development, the abductors released Gülcemal in Mastung district. He was subsequently taken into protective custody by the police.

Gülcemal was kidnapped after armed militants attacked the Darigwan mining site in Chagai on April 22 this year, resulting in fatalities and the abduction of the Turkish worker.

Officials said he has already spoken with his family through a video call to assure them of his safety. Following the completion of legal and administrative formalities, he is expected to be handed over to the Turkish Consulate and reunited with his family in the coming days.
