KARACHI: Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has commenced the execution phase for Barite, Lead & Zinc (BLZ) Project, a joint venture between PPL as operator and the government of Balochistan, with the signing of the Project Management Consultancy contract with globally renowned engineering services DMT Germany.

According to a company statement on Wednesday, the MD & CEO of PPL, Mohammad Khalid Rehman, signed the agreement with the head of DMT Germany, Florian Beier, on June 23 at the PPL head office, in the presence of officials from both organisations, including PPL Minerals Head Zeeshan Asghar.

Partnering with DMT Germany reflects PPL’s commitment to international best practices, technical excellence and effective execution. BLZ Project is one of Pakistan’s most significant large-scale open-pit mining ventures, which is expected to become a key driver of economic growth in the region.
