ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday issued a notice to the respondents of Immigration and sought a response on a petition filed by three passengers, including a couple, who were offloaded at the airport while traveling for Umrah.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir heard the petition filed by Asad Aslam, Imran, and Ishrat Imran, who challenged their offloading from a flight on June 18. Advocate Tariq Muhammad Khan Marwat, representing the petitioners, argued that his clients were wrongly offloaded on the pretext of lacking hotel booking, despite possessing return tickets and QR codes confirming their reservations. The lawyer further alleged that airport staff misbehaved with the passengers and demanded a bribe to allow them to travel.
