We are quick to criticise and run-down the quality of service that is dispensed to the ordinary citizens. Therefore, if an office is delivering the quality of service that it should, without taking a bribe or a connection, then it should be acknowledged. I visited the Driving Licence Office, Clifton to renew my license, fearing that the process would probably take an hour. I entered clean surroundings, was guided to a counter where a pleasant lady asked for my CNIC and old licence. On confirming my details, she gave me a printout and guided me to the payment counter.

I made the payment and was asked to get my photograph taken. The officer was, again, a pleasant one and even asked if I wanted to see if my picture was acceptable. He directed me to the eye doctor and took my receipt from the last counter. The lady informed me that the licence will be delivered to the given address in one week.

It took all of ten minutes, with smiles and a courteous interaction. I left with a smile and a good feeling. Thank you to the wonderful people manning this branch.
