RAWALPINDI: Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry, counsel for the former chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), who was convicted in the £190 million Al-Qadir Trust case, provided a copy of the Islamabad High Court’s orders to the Adiala Jail administration for the signing of the power of attorney.

Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry provided the prison administration with a copy of the orders issued by the two-member bench of the Islamabad High Court. He informed the prison administration that he had come to obtain the signed power of attorney in the £190 million case, as the court had directed its execution while hearing a contempt of court petition. Under the court order, the prison authorities are bound to have the power of attorney signed within seven days.

He stated that, after the power of attorney is signed, an appeal would be filed before the Supreme Court in the £190 million case. He further said that the power of attorney documents have been with the prison authorities since May 25 and that the required signatures are yet to be obtained. He added that the delay is affecting the hearing of the case.
