MANSEHRA: Residents on Friday demanded that the government fill vacant teaching posts t in girls’ educational institutions in the Pulrah.

“The provincial government claims to prioritise girls’ education, but almost all educational institutions in our area have been facing the shortage of teaching staff and other issues for decades,” Dr Mohammad Fayyaz, a resident of Pulrah told reporters.

A group of residents from different parts of Pulrah and adjoining localities said that due to social barriers and poverty, many families could not afford to send their daughters and sisters to educational institutions in distant towns and cities.

Dr Fayyaz said that despite being the headquarters of the former Pulrah State, the area lacked adequate educational facilities for girls.“The government Higher Secondary School, Pulrah, is facing a shortage of science teachers, and its intermediate section could not be made functional,” he said.
