This letter refers to the news reports ‘Coalition math starts as PPP tops GB polls’ and ‘PM felicitates PPP for success in GB elections’ (June 9, 2026). Prima facie, a very good and decent electoral bout was offered to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan, who participated in the exercise with fervour, devotion and wholeheartedness. I wish to offer my congratulations to the PPP for having secured the highest number of seats.
Three key agenda items that the party should pursue during its tenure are: controlling deforestation, promoting water resources and controlling the population growth rate.
