The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration Wing at Jinnah International Airport Karachi on Tuesday foiled an attempt by a passenger to travel to Poland using a counterfeit work visa and registered a criminal case against him.

The passenger, identified as Daud Khan, son of Asghar Khan and a resident of Swabi district, was taken into custody during immigration clearance after officials found his travel documents suspicious.

During a detailed examination, the Polish work visa affixed to his passport was found to be forged and counterfeit. FIA officials said the visa lacked standard security features and failed ultraviolet (UV) verification checks.

During preliminary interrogation, the suspect disclosed that after his applications for a Polish visa had been rejected twice, he contacted an agent identified as Abu Yorab, allegedly based in Turkey, through Facebook. According to the FIA, the agent received Rs240,000 through the Binance cryptocurrency platform and, in return, provided a fake Polish visa sticker and other related materials.
