LAHORE:In line with the directives of the Punjab government, Lahore General Hospital (LGH) organised Dengue Prevention Day to raise public awareness.
The event featured a comprehensive awareness seminar and an awareness walk led by PGMI Vice Principal Prof Dr Nudrat Sohail, LGH MS Prof Dr Faryad Hussain and Prof Dr Khurram Saleem. Doctors, nurses, paramedical staff and medical students, including Dr Samina Taufeeq, Dr Jafar Hussain Shah, Dr Salman Shakeel and Saima Fateh, participated in large numbers. Addressing the seminar, health experts highlighted the symptoms of dengue, preventive measures and the importance of eliminating mosquito breeding sites. Prof Dr Nudrat Sohail and Prof Dr Faryad Hussain said that caution is the biggest weapon in eliminating dengue. They urged citizens to prevent water stagnation in homes and workplaces and maintain strict cleanliness standards.
Experts also highlighted the role of personal hygiene, particularly regular handwashing before meals, in protecting against mosquito-borne and other infectious diseases. Participants carried placards and banners displaying dengue prevention guidelines and messages promoting cleanliness.
