LAHORE : The All Pakistan Federation of Trade Unions has criticised the federal budget, stating that workers, low-income groups, and pensioners have been ignored. In a statement, General Secretary Khurshid Ahmad said new taxes on essential items like milk, cooking oil, ghee, and pesticides will increase the cost of living. He termed the salary increase inadequate amid rising inflation and growing expenses on food, healthcare, education, and transport.
He urged the government to raise wages in line with inflation and adopt self-reliance policies to strengthen the economy.
