KARACHI: Jazz has urged customers to remain vigilant against a rise in increasingly sophisticated digital scams, including phishing attempts, fake reward offers, impersonation scams, deceptive calls and fraudulent messages designed to create a false sense of trust and urgency, the company announced on Thursday.
The company said fraudsters were also misusing its name, branding and identity to circulate deceptive messages containing suspicious links, prize notifications, account alerts or requests for personal information intended to trick customers into acting immediately.
“Fraudsters are increasingly using messages, calls and links that appear genuine, making scams harder to detect,” said Kazim Mujtaba, president of Jazz GSM. He urged customers to verify the source of any message promising rewards and never to share passwords, PINs, OTPs or financial information.
Jazz said customers could verify offers and account communications through official channels, including SIMOSA, the company website, verified social media accounts and customer care. Through SIMOSA, customers could also review and manage their active Value-Added Services and subscriptions.
The company encouraged customers to report suspicious messages claiming to represent it.
