Two women drown in Swat River

BATKHELA: Two women belonging to the same family drowned in the Swat River in the Jala Wanan area of Malakand district.

According to Levies sources, the incident occurred when a young girl lost balance and

slipped into the river. In an attempt to save her, two female family members entered the water but were swept away by the strong current.

Soon after receiving information about the incident, local residents, volunteer teams, and relevant authorities rushed to the scene and launched rescue efforts.During the operation, rescuers recovered the body of one woman from the river, while another woman was rescued unconscious and shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

However, the girl remained missing, and a search operation was underway in the Swat River to locate her. Levies officials said that volunteer divers, local residents, and rescue teams were participating in the search operation.

The search area was expanded to various points along the river in an effort to trace the missing child.Authorities hoped that the ongoing operation would lead to the recovery of the missing girl.
