RAWALPINDI: Authorities at the Adiala Jail on Tuesday facilitated a meeting between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi, while denying access to his sisters, party leaders, and lawyers who were seeking to meet him.
According to jail sources, the meeting between Imran and Bushra was held at the Conference Room of the Central Jail Rawalpindi in accordance with prison regulations. The couple exchanged inquiries about each other’s well-being during the session which lasted for approximately 45 minutes. Then they were shifted back to their cells.
Sources confirmed that no other visitors were permitted to meet the PTI founder on Tuesday. Imran Khan’s three sisters, along with several PTI leaders and counsel, had reached the Adiala Road for a scheduled meeting but were stopped by police at checkpoints established at Dahgal and Gorakhpur, preventing them from proceeding to the jail facility.
The sources disclosed that the list of visitors formally submitted by the PTI to jail authorities included Barrister Gohar Khan, Ali Zaman, Intizar Hussain Panjutha, Faisal Malik, Hina Javed, and Awais Younas Javed. However, the jail administration withheld permission, and none of the named individuals were allowed to meet the former prime minister.
