LAHORE: The Crime Control Department (CCD) Punjab on Monday said three key suspects involved in the attack on MPA Colonel (retd) Ayub Khan Gadhi were killed and two others were arrested during an operation in Toba Tek Singh.
According to a CCD spokesperson, the suspects had allegedly carried out a gun attack on the residence of MPA Ayub Khan Gadhi a few days earlier, leaving him seriously injured. Four civilians present at the site were also killed in the firing.
The Toba Tek Singh CCD team conducted a raid within the jurisdiction of Rajana police station on intelligence regarding the suspects’ presence. The spokesperson said the suspects opened indiscriminate fire upon seeing the CCD team.
During the ensuing encounter, three main suspects were killed, while two were arrested from the spot. Heavy weapons were also recovered from the killed and arrested suspects.The CCD has formed special teams to arrest other accomplices involved in the case.
