LAHORE:Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana has directed police officers to ensure foolproof security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram, emphasising that the maintenance of peace and religious harmony will be ensured.

Chairing a progress review meeting at the Capital City Police Headquarters, the CCPO reviewed the security plan for Muharram processions, majalis and other related arrangements across the provincial capital.

DIG (Ops) Muhammad Faisal Kamran informed participants about procession routes, majalis, security deployments and the implementation of surety bond requirements. Addressing the meeting, the CCPO directed to finalise the Muharram security plan in accordance with government SOPs. He stressed the importance of close coordination with peace committee members, procession organisers, custodians, licence holders and other stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of security measures.

He also directed strict enforcement of surety bonds obtained from owners of buildings situated along procession routes and called for enhanced monitoring of sensitive locations. He ordered police officers to maintain liaison with community representatives and religious organisers, intensify search, sweep and combing operations to curb the activities of anti-social elements.
