56 arrested in action against drug dealers in two weeks

LAHORE:The Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (CNF), in its ongoing crackdown on drug traffickers and smugglers, conducted 52 successful operations over the past two weeks, foiling the trafficking of over 678 kg narcotics and arresting 56 suspects.

According to the Punjab Counter Narcotics Force DG, the recovered narcotics include 514 kg hashish, 120 kg opium, 20.5 kg crystal meth (ice), 24 kg cannabis, 138 gram heroin and 1,220 litre liquor. In addition, 10 pistols were also recovered from the possession of the accused. He stated that the Punjab Counter Narcotics Force is not only taking robust action against drug trafficking but is also confiscating illegal weapons and liquor during these operations to ensure public safety and maintain law and order across the province. He informed that since becoming operational on August 22, 2025, the Punjab Counter Narcotics Force has so far recovered narcotics worth Rs2.556 billion, totaling 22.8 tonnes.
