LAHORE: The Punjab government has released the performance ranking of deputy commissioners for April 2026, with Okara emerging as the best performing district in the province after securing a score of 97.95 points, while Chiniot, led by Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan, claimed the second position with 96.18 points.
According to the official assessment, Lodhran secured the third position with 96.10 points, followed closely by Sargodha with 96.07 and Khanewal with 95.79 points. Bahawalnagar was ranked sixth with 95.66 points, while Kot Addu and Gujranwala occupied the seventh and eighth positions with scores of 95.40 and 94.84, respectively.
Faisalabad was placed ninth with 94.54 points, followed by Hafizabad in tenth position with 94.52 points. Jhang secured 11th place with 94.40 points, while Narowal, Vehari, Rahim Yar Khan and Layyah completed the next five positions with scores ranging between 94.22 and 93.94. Muzaffargarh ranked 16th with 93.08 points, followed by Bahawalpur (92.91), Toba Tek Singh (92.46), Nankana Sahib (91.96), Taunsa (91.46) and Pakpattan (91.31). Dera Ghazi Khan stood at 22nd position with 90.76 points.
The ranking placed Sheikhupura at 23rd position with 89.39 points and Gujrat at 24th with 88.39 points. Rajanpur ranked 25th with 85.49 points, while Lahore was placed 26th with 85.25 points. Sahiwal followed immediately behind with 85.21 points. Attock, Kasur and Bhakkar secured the 28th, 29th and 30th positions with scores of 83.25, 83.17 and 82.89, respectively. Mandi Bahauddin ranked 31st with 82.57 points, followed by Sialkot (82.08), Rawalpindi (81.93), Khushab (81.28), Jhelum (80.41), Chakwal (79.81) and Mianwali (79.29). Multan was placed 38th with 78.49 points, while Talagang ranked 39th with 76.49 points. Wazirabad secured the 40th position with 75.78 points, and Murree was placed at the bottom of the provincial table with 74.40 points.
Officials familiar with the exercise said the ranking was compiled using a broad range of performance indicators covering administrative efficiency, implementation of government initiatives, public service delivery, development progress, revenue and regulatory functions, complaint resolution mechanisms, field inspections and overall governance standards.
