ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) is set to meet on June 11, with Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi chairing the session in his capacity as the commission’s chairman.

A five-member Rules-Making Committee, headed by Justice Aamer Farooq, had previously been constituted to draft the rules governing the Judicial Commission’s functioning.

According to sources, the proposed rules also include the formation of a committee to conduct interviews of candidates for judicial appointments.Once the Judicial Commission Rules are approved, the process of appointing judges to the high courts will begin.
